We’re all familiar with Kirby’s bottomless pit of a stomach and uncanny ability to copy his food’s abilities, and we’ve seen Kirby used as a golf ball (Kirby’s Dream Course), placed in patchwork (Kirby’s Epic Yarn) and roll along various locales on Pop Star as a ball (Kirby: Canvas Curse). But we haven’t seen Kirby run around with 10+ smaller copies of himself all screaming “Hiii!” and wreaking untold havoc. If it isn’t broken, you don’t fix it. You make improvements to it instead. At least that seems to be the concept behind the newly revealed Super Mario for the 3DS. Slated for release some time around the holiday season of this year, Super Mario for the 3DS seeks to incorporate the depth provided by the 3DS as well as power-ups both old and new to bring the world-famous plumber into the 3D era in style. Yes, there is a set of new Pokémon games. I’m sure you’re shocked to hear this. Once again children of all ages will be crowding outside Gamestop in order to get their grubby mitts all over Black and White carts the world over. And a few long-time fans like me will be among those children, grabbing a copy and talking with our other friends who still manage to not stop playing these ridiculously addictive titles.
That said, after reading this, I don’t expect anyone to change their minds about the series, or even rush out and buy these titles. But I can’t stress enough: the series has finally improved itself, and it would be a shame if you missed out on these games. Read the full story
