Half-Minute Hero began life essentially as freeware known as 30-Second Hero originally developed by UUE. A unique take on the Japanese Role Playing Game (JRPG) formula, players had 30 seconds to beat an evil wizard and save the world from certain destruction. In 2009, the game would be adopted by Marvelous Entertainment where they would make the move from a standalone 1 MB game and add 5 other different modes. The newly christened Half-Minute Hero would be released as an exclusive to Sony’s PSP where it would go on to win several awards from RPG focused sites. Now, two years later, Marvelous Entertainment brings Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax to the Xbox Live Arcade, with a fresh coat of paint, and 62 new levels. The game play is essentially the same as it was on PSP, so fans should be right at home with this version. Let’s see if this version stacks up to its new sub-title; is it really a Super Mega Neo Climax?

The biggest fear I had walking into E3 was seeing SSX going the way of many sitcoms…serious. SSX has always bordered on the line of parody as far as sports games go: vibrant characters with their own definable styles, mountains had their own flavor, and the tricks that made the game what it is are still burned into my brain. But after seeing the pre-E3 teaser trailer it began to seem as though we would be looking at the series going in a more serious direction as opposed to wacky game its known to be. This is why I’m grateful I came to E3. EA has matured the franchise but kept what makes the series great. The physics have changed a little bit more requiring the player to be a little more precise about how they land, but it never hinders the player’s ability to get tricky. Springing up and going tricky will be familiar to veteran players and will be easy to pick up for those new to the series. Read the full story

I have been hearing a lot of arguments from both companies on the advantages of their motion technology, and the disadvantages of the others. A majority of it I dismissed, because for the most part they do the same thing(replace a controller with bodily motions). Read the full story
