The Sims 3 for Consoles Gets 3 New Screenshots

Gamescom 2010 is going on right now in Cologne, Germany, so gaming news is flying at us left and right. Today is no different, and EA has just released three new screenshots for console version of The Sims 3.

Almost a month ago to the day, EA held its Studio Showcase where they unveiled a new expansion for TS3 PC, Late Night, and the plans to port TS3 to consoles. At the time we had no idea on a release date, but since then we have found out that it drops on October 26th.

If you’ve been playing The Sims 3 on PC, then these screenshots might not seem like much to you, but as a person who has never played it before, I’m genuinely excited. In the first screenshot with the house, we get a bit of a glimpse into how some of the user interface is going to look. The other two are just action shots, but I still can’t wait to get my hands on this game!

My problem with The Sims has always been it’s lasting power. It’s great making characters and building a house and whatnot, but after a while it gets tedious and monotonous.

That’s when you start building deathtraps. The enjoyment factor jumps right back up to 100.

I’ve never played it before, so I honestly have no frame of reference. I am excited about it though.

I’ve only played the first Sims, but I did lose hours of my life to building houses and than taking everything away and letting my sim wet his pants and yell at me. That was until he set the house on fire and with no smoke detector burned it to the ground. Than without food he passed away, always a good time.

About Marooners’ Rock

Everyone grows up; this is how the world works. Just because we grow decrepit and old, however, does not mean we have to forsake the things that make us happy, childish though they may seem. This is the core concept of Marooners’ Rock; we geek out on the things of our past, present, and future. Society and cultural norms be damned!
